With over 20+ years experience in the healing arts, Jen Rothman offers an experientially rich, deeply healing, and powerfully effective soul-focused alternative to psychotherapy. She is a certified Somatic Experiencing Practitoner® and holds a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, as well as a Spiritual Guidance Certificate from the the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (ITP), with advanced clinical training in Somatic Therapy, Jungian Depth Psychology, and Existential, Phenomenological Psychotherapy at the Ph.D. level.
In addition to her graduate work Jen has continued her professional training to include numerous somatic (body-centered) therapies, such as: Hakomi, Somatic Experiencing®, and Focusing; as well as training in: Psychosynthesis Sub-Personality Work, Dynamic Attatchment Re-Patterning, Object Relations Theory, Transformational Process Coaching, and Shamanic Energy Healing. Jen draws upon all these modalities in her work with clients creating a style that is sweetly attuned to the needs of each individual, and their given situation. Despite her vigorous training as a psychotherapist (completion of all course work for a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, and 1900 supervised clinical hours), Jen is not a psychotherapist. Jen is a Soul Therapist, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner® and Transformational Process Coach; working under the legal umbrella of an Ordained Minister with the Church of Spiritual Humanism.
Jen believes that within each of us is a innate healing wisdom and profound intelligence that, once accessed, can gracefully and effectively guide us on our healing journey. In essence, Jen recognizes that the client is the true expert on themselves. The work Jen does facilitates and supports a profound experiential connection for clients with this deep innate intelligence found within themselves, and from this space, deep healing and transformation gently unfolds with grace and ease.
Jen embodies a down to earth, compassionate presence, and a joyous, heart-felt commitment to the beautiful unfoldment of one's Soul and its liberation from the confines of history and conditioning.
Jen's work is intimately informed by her own life journey, her meditation practice of 18+ years, and her long-term spiritual path of the Diamond Approach (www.ridwhan.org) a body-focused path of self-realization, deep inner-work and self-inquiry; as well as her experience with various earth based spiritual traditions, shamanic practices, and ceremonial initiations.
Jen lives in the Sebastopol country-side with her husband Scot and their son Skyler.
